A Day of Street Photography in Porto with the Fujifilm X-H2
Porto, Portugal, is a dream destination for street photographers. Its cobblestone streets, colorful facades, and atmospheric weather provide endless inspiration. Equipped with the Fujifilm X-H2, the 16-55mm f2.8 and a Hoya 0.5 diffusion filter, I embarked on a day-long photo adventure through this picturesque city.
Here's how the day unfolded, starting with a foggy morning and ending with a moody sunset!
The day began with a blanket of fog cloaking Porto. Standing on the Dom Luís I Bridge, I watched as the Douro River vanished into the mist, creating an almost dreamlike scene.
As the fog lifted, overcast skies took over, casting a soft, diffused light across the city.
The city’s charm lies in its details: the ornate azulejos (blue tiles) on church walls, weathered doors with peeling paint, and locals sipping coffee at outdoor cafés.
I explored the cobbled streets of the old town, venturing along the Douro river where street performers performed in the mist before ending up at Sao Bento station where I encountered a very happy looking Santa Claus.
As evening approached, the clouds began to break, and golden light poured over the city and I got some great silhouette shots back up on the Dom Luis bridge.
Just as the sun dipped below the horizon, the fog rolled back in, wrapping the city in an eerie, atmospheric veil and I ended the day with more misty, foggy images.
I ended the day with a bunch of photos that I was happy with and all edited with my Cinematic Streets v1 Lightroom Presets
